Building Regulations ‘U’ Values
Current Building Regulations require external doors and windows in new build properties,
to meet heat saving standards. The criteria is currently to achieve a ‘U’ value of 1.8
and 1.6 minimum respectively. Such standards are necessary to
ensure that new properties become more and more efficient in respect of heat loss over the long term.
Whilst currently this is only a requirement for new properties, it is our belief these regulations
will become more stringent over time and could also extend to replacement doors and windows
in existing properties.
We are pleased to advise that Desired Joinery Ltd are able to provide ‘U’
value certification for external doors and windows. Therefore, our customers
are able to have bespoke doors and/or windows and not be forced into having
‘off the shelf’ standard products.
